Who we are

Kelowna Irrigation operates kelownairrigation.ca, an online quote-request service for irrigation work in Kelowna and the surrounding Central Okanagan. We are not an irrigation contractor and do not perform irrigation work.

Information we collect

We collect the information you provide directly when you submit a quote request. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for payment details at any point.

• Your phone number
• Your email address, if you choose to provide one
• The service you need and the service area you are in
• Your property type and how soon you need the work
• Any details you write in the message field
• The page you submitted the request from, so we understand which content leads to requests

How we use it

• To pass your request to independent irrigation contractors serving your area so they can contact you
• To respond to you directly if you contact us with a question
• To understand which services and areas generate requests, so we can improve the site
• To detect and prevent spam and fraudulent submissions

Who we share it with

We share the details you submit with one or more independent irrigation contractors who serve your area and take on the type of work you have described. This is the core function of the service, and by submitting a request you consent to that sharing.

Those contractors are separate businesses. Once your details reach them, their own privacy practices apply to how they hold and use your information. We do not control what they do with it, and we recommend asking any contractor directly about their practices if that matters to you.

We also use service providers to operate the site — specifically a hosting provider and a database provider, which store submitted requests on our behalf. They process data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for unrelated marketing.

How long we keep it

We retain quote requests for as long as needed to operate the service and to keep records of requests we have passed on. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at the address above and we will respond within a reasonable period.

If a contractor contacts you and you do not wish to hear from them again, you can tell them directly. Because they hold your details independently once shared, we cannot remove your information from their systems on your behalf.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. If your browser stores a preference such as light or dark theme, that is kept locally in your browser and is never sent to us.

If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy before doing so and will describe what is collected.

Security

Requests are transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored in a database that is not publicly accessible. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information involved, which is contact details rather than financial or identity data.

Children

This service is intended for property owners and managers. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
